Avinav mukherjee, disciple of legendary kathak exponent and sangeet natak akademy awardee smt.geetanjali lal. Avinav is young, dynamic and dedicated. It is his sheer passion that drives him to excel in the field of kathak across the globe. It is the result of his unending perseverence, that he is rubbing shoulders with the maestros at this tender age. Avinav is quintessential while performing. Apart from kathak, avinav takes keen interest in other dance forms including comtemporary and classical ballet.
He is a graded doordarshan artist, has obtained diploma graduate in kathak from kathak kendra, new delhi and is an alumnus of delhi public school, noida. He was awarded complete freeship and education scholarship for 5 years from the then chairman of d.p.s society mr.narendra kumar for best performance in an all india inter d.p.s classical dance festival held at d.p.s rohini, new delhi in april 2003.
As the greeks believed, “no person is complete till he returns to the society, what he got from it”, avinav at this tender age has seemed to idolize this belief. He had keenly upheld the spirit of “giving it back to society” by particpating in workshops, performances for various ngo’s across delhi. Further, he wants to spread this beautiful form of art,’kathak’ to the underpreviliged and deprived people in near future.
