Our commitment to students, parents and organizations who support us
It is paramount important for us that we are committed to our vision and maintain quality of dance education at any cost.
“Our vision is to provide high quality dance instructions to our students and help them to develop love for art, friendship and fitness. We will also give every dancer an opportunity to perform and learn Indian values and traditions”.
- Never compromise on quality
- Equal opportunity to all
- Inculcate good values in addition to teaching dance
- Provide relaxed, joyful and proper environment for dance
- Provide platform to perform
I read the “Vision” of our dance school and my commitment to our students once a day and this is how I start my day. It is very easy to gather many students and run the dance school as commercial establishment. But then we lose focus and creativity.
We made a choice long ago, and I think we made a right choice that we do not want to run this dance school as a business. We still follow age old Guru-Shishya parampara (tradition) to pass whatever knowledge we have to our students. I continually educate myself by keeping in touch with my teachers, practicing every day for at least 2-3 hours and always thinking about how to improve the technique and evolve new things.
We combined bollywood moves and yoga techniques into our classical base. This was done, not because we like to do, but because of overwhelming demand from our students. We cannot ignore the fact that to keep children’s interest alive, we have to bend some rules.
From the humble beginning in 1999 we have now established as premier dance school in Chicago area. Indian Dance School is a not for profit company formed under IRS section 501(3)(c) to promote dance and music from India. If you think we are doing a good job of keeping this art form alive and if you have willingness to help us, please think of donating whatever possible. I will make sure your money is spent on good cause. Your donations are tax exempt from federal income (to the extent allowed by IRS in USA).
Let us keep exploring exciting world of dance.
