My daughters who are both in high school now, have been learning Kathak from Gauri for the past 7 years. She is a skilled teacher and motivates her students to give their best in other walks of life as well.
She has groomed my girls and their peers very well. Her programs and shows are proof of the fact that she is extremely diligent, dedicated, and a wonderful dancer. We are proud to be part of the Indian Dance School family. So lucky to have her in the vicinity! Thank you, and Three Cheers To You Dear Gauri!!

My daughter has been under the guidance of Gauri Jog learning Kathak dance for only a short time. However, my daughter loves her wonderful teacher; Gauri Jog! Gauri Jog is very passionate about Kathak and all her students. She is enthusiastic, kind, and a dedicated teacher! Thank you for your hard work and dedication!

Gauri is an exceptional dance teacher, choreographer and performer and she instills the same passion for the art form in her students through her dedication and infectious enthusiasm . I started learning Kathak from her, along with my daughter, about ten years ago and am still going strong. I learn something new and exciting in every class and love performing with her for various occasions and in varied venues.
A truly dedicated and unique person, Gauri is a pleasure to learn from.

Gauri is a very good Kathak teacher, my daughter is learning from her for last 6 years and we are very pleased with the progression and teaching style.
Indian Dance School has given my daughter opportunity to experience the flavor of Indian classical art staying away from India. We wish Gauri Jog goodluck!

My daughter and I have been taking lessons from Gauriji for over a year now and are loving it! Gauri Jog is an amazing dancer and a great teacher. My daughter loves her. We are not only learning Kathak but also the theory of the dance and the music. I wanted a comprehensive dance program for us and Gauri Jog provides it. Her online lessons are so convenient. I would recommend Indian Dance School to anyone interested in learning Kathak. Thank you Gauriji!

Taking lessons from Gauriaunty is a great pleasure that I look forward to every week. She is very easy to approach and has created a great environment which makes it very easy to learn Kathak. She listens to what we have to say, and does not impose on us at all… Her teaching style is very unique in that she makes us practice old pieces even as we learn new things so that we do not forget them! She is amazing…!

I am an Author from Nagpur, India. I wrote my first book on how people transform their passion into profession. Gauri Jog ma’am is a part of my book. when I was interviewing her I noticed how humble, polite and true she is. And that defintly reflects in her dance. She has been practicing kathak since childhood. And now working to make many children devote to kathak. Apart from teaching kathak she has the responsibility to teach cultural and moral values to the students because kathak involves sanskaar. ☺

Nicely compiled and presented systematically. However you have missed out on one of the greatest exponent, a Sangeet Natak Academi Awardee – Late Pandita Dr. Rohini Bhate. Her work in Kathak is so immense that one cant just ignore it. I am not saying this as I am her disciple. But if you spend some time in knowing about her I am sure you will realize that you need to include her name too.

Unfortunately, Guru Pt. Mohanrao Kallianpurkar is not included in your list. He was the student of Sundar Prasad and Achchan Maharaj and the Kathak guru in the erstwhile Marris College of Music in Lucknow presently, the Bhatkhand College of Music, Lucknow, where he was the Director and also Dean of the Dance section. He was responsible in preparing a syllabus for a five year university dance course. He was the recipient of the Rashtrapati Award, Fellowship of Sangeet Natak Academy Award and many more. Some of his noted students are Smt. Rohini Bhate, Purnima Pande Padma Sharma amongst many others.
