Indian Heritage Celebration

On May 11, 2010 at Sara Lee Headquarters, Downers Grove, IL. Description: Sara lee company invited our dance school to perform on the occasion of celebration of Indian heritage. We performed several dances including Ganesh Vandana, pure classical Kathak, dance on Bollywood song and a dance on Indian folk song. We also did lecture demonstration on Kathak dance. The program ended with Sara lee employees learning steps to perform dance on popular song “Jai Ho”.

Asian Moth Celebration with Mayor Dailey

On May 11, 2010 at City Hall, Chicago, IL. Description: To kick-off month long celebration of Asian American Heritage month, our dance school performed a dance at Chicago Mayor Daley’s reception at City Hall. The dance was performed by Gauri Jog and her student and characterized by beautiful choreography, music and costume. The dance showed two friends dancing with joy on the onset of spring.

Classical Dance Festival

On May 1, 2010 at Hindu Temple, Arora. Description: Our students participated in this annual classical dance festival. We performed two dances, one depicting the story of Lord Krishna and Yashodha Maiyya and in the second dance our students danced on Taal Ektaal. The second dance was all about intimate relations and a bond between mother and daughter.

Shakuntala

On March 19, 2010 at Prairie Center for The Arts, Schaumburg, IL. Description: In a sold out performance of our in house production, “Shakuntala”, Gauri Jog and her students amazed the audience with beautiful choreography, magnificent stage decoration and costumes, and music.

Winter Pageant Dance

On December 15, 2009 at The Chicago Waldorf School, Chicago, IL. Description: On the occasion of Winter pageant of this school and to celebrate holiday season, we were invited by the school to perform Indian Classical Dance. Our student presented pure Kathak – showing fast foot work, spins and acting a story of 3 seasons of nature and love.
