Dance at NBC Navy Pier
On November 15, 2008 at Navy Pier, Chicago, IL. Description: NBC TV invited us to present Indian dances at their Travel Expo. We presented four dances at Navy Pier expo hall. We started with invocation to Lord Ganesh, followed by fusion of Indian Classical Dance Kathak and Jazz. Then we performed pure classical Kathak in Taal Dhamar with 14 bits and was performed by Gauri Jog. We ended the program with “”Deep Nritya”” celebrating the festival of lights (Diwali or Deepawali). This dance involved holding lights in both hands, on head and dancing on the edge of plates. This requires lot of balancing skills and concentration.
East Meets West
On October 25, 2008 at Prairie Center for the Arts, Schaumburg, IL. Description: Directed, choreographed and presented by Gauri Jog, this program was presented by more than 60 dancers in six major dance forms around the world including Kathak, Mexican, Flamenco, Belly, Lavni and Folk dances.
Shanti
On October 4, 2008 at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Saylorsburg, PA. Description: Shanti – A journey of peace, is a musical and theatrical exploration of ancient chants and peace. It is a theater performance incorporating distinct elements of world music forms and dances.

Krishna Janmashtami Program
On August 23, 2008 at Hindu Temple of Lake County, Grayslake, IL. Description: We were invited to present dances on the theme of Radha and Krishna. Our group presented a dance on the 1950 song Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje. The small girls invoked big applause from the audience. The costumed were specifically prepared for the dance.
